Ron Paul – I Looked, I Read, I Listened and I Ran!

Well I gave Ron Paul a shot, I read through his campaign web sites, his MANY FaceBook Pages, emailed his campaign to clarify some issues (never got an answer), reviewed his debates and spoke to countless John Paul followers.

Now first let me say I do agree with the majority of Ron Paul's ideas, but I honestly feel that he does not see the one most terrifying threat to America today, that is radical Islam. Instead he pushes the blame for radical Islam's hate for us to some "theory" on a blow-back effect of our past actions, even going as far as saying 9/11 was a result of this American caused blow-back, our fault. What he fails to realize is that Islam has been murdering for thousands of years in the effort to spread Islam, it was their way then and still is today as history clearly shows.

Also, he sees no threat from Iran or it's insane President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who "HAS" called for the "Death of Israel" and the "Death of America". Ron Paul actually had defended President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad comments by trying to spin them into something completely different to what they were, a threat and promise from an insane dictator who believes that he can speed up the return of the 12th Iman and bring Armageddon upon us. (Yes, he does believe that! He has stated so!)

Now before you Ron Paul followers start putting words in my mouth again, I do not want war with Iran! BUT, I also refuse to ignore them as we ignored Hitler during his rise to power as that would be insanity at best!

On Ron Paul's web site he professes to be a Christian, just remember Ron, Christians stand with Israel, not with a madman that wants to destroy them.

There are so many statements to take issue with, so let’s just take a few:

    1. To deny the act of blowback is intellectually dishonest. As clearly stated by the CIA/9-11 Commission Report, noted Author Chalmers Johnson http://is.gd/nXON9F, Political Science Professor Robert Pape http://is.gd/E3NNdq , and Former CIA Michael Schuer http://is.gd/EWHOsF to name a few, blowback is very real and at the heart of ‘why they hate us.’

    2. To disregard these experienced individuals while adhering to political campaign rhetoric and MSM shilling for the warfare state is insufficient in obtaining objective information in order to reach a logical conclusion.

    3. You are using the spoken rhetoric of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as evidence of your concerns, yet you simultaneously reject the words of Osama Bin Laden, who issued 2 very detailed missives regarding his opposition to the United States. That opposition was rooted in the very truths laid out by the above mentioned individuals in defining blowback. You cannot have it both ways, rejecting Bin Ladens’ words while accepting those of Ahmadinejad.

    4. Ron Paul is actually the most respectful of all GOP candidates toward Israel. While the others rally for military action against Iran claiming they ‘stand with Israel,’ Ron Paul supports Israel by acknowledging her sovereignty and her military capabilities. Paul is on record with this recognition, rejecting the premise that Israel must be a lapdog for the U.S. by seeking permission due to foreign aid commitments. To advocate an aggression toward Iran infers that Israel is weak, indecisive, and unable to act in her own best interests. The Ron Paul position toward Israel is that she is well able – with a fierce military, superb intelligence, and nuclear capabilities to do what is in her best interests.

Israel could readily annihilate Iran if she determined it was necessary.

Ron Paul has a long history of fidelity to the Constitution. Both the Preamble and Article II Sec. 2 instruct a President in using his powers to defend the USA. This not a difficult question to answer.

Your article concludes with the remark, “On Ron Paul’s web site he professes to be a Christian, just remember Ron, Christians stand with Israel, not with a madman that wants to destroy them.”

Can you please cite evidence that Ron Paul is ‘standing with a madman?’ Such hyperbolic language only serves to discredit any logic you might have put forth to argue your case. You are implying that Ron Paul is not a Christian. This is a pronouncement of judgment which Christians are instructed not to do.

Lastly, if you do believe in God, do you not believe the words written in His Word? Is Jesus not seated at the right hand of the Father on the throne? Do you not believe His promises to protect and keep all who are His? Are you actually afraid of a Muslim bogeyman hiding under your bed?

Please read the above listed individuals, think about what they are saying versus the media and the other GOP candidates who are spewing aggressive rhetoric in the face of what the seasoned and experience veterans are saying.

    Regards.

“Lastly, if you do believe in God” Yes more than anything else! That is why we will have a battle between good and evil as we have been told. The time is near. Also no one leads a country without the approval of God, as told to us in scripture, if Ron Paul wins it is only because God allows it, same if he does not win.

I only state my opinion, something that is my right, as it is yours to disagree with, it is Gods will that will be done.

Iran’s President has said many times Death to America and Death to Israel, that is a fact and I will stand with Israel as does God.

    Hi Eddie:

Thanks for the post. If I may, I’d like to express why I am an proud supporter of Ron Paul. In the interested of full disclosure – I am a 29 year old, white, college-educated, father of a three-month old girl. I was born and raised in a non-denominational church and believe that the only way to Heaven is through belief the Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. I am an IT professional working for a financial institution (not one of the Wall-Street ones). I have never served in the military.

Now.. I firmly believe that America’s foreign policy has taken anti-God, anti-kin, and anti-country to the ultimate extreme. We purposefully indenture and financially repress poor countries in the name of financial aid. We corrupt foreign governments to concede to our demands and overthrow them if they do not abide by our wishes. If all these fail, we split families in our country so some of its members and fly overseas and destroy the citizens of the offending country as we assassinate their offending leader.

These are wildly unpopular statements, but they are true. I am grateful I live in America. It is very generous and has done much good. However, it can also be extremely evil. If you don’t mind indulging me, would you mind reviewing the following YouTube videos.

I would like to know how you interpret our foreign actions over the past 50 years and the way the governments we’ve manipulated have reacted. Do you honestly believe warfare is a better action then the “Golden Rule” when interacting with our fellow human beings abroad. And how do you reconcile the fact that active military personnel overwhelmingly support those with an anti-war message?

    Thank you,

    Justin

      Hey Justin

Well I firmly believe that we have this mentality that we are the police force of the world. Over the last 50 years or so if I would have to grade our interactions with the rest of the world I would have to give us a D+ at best.

As far as war goes, I am firmly against all war unless in strict defense of the United States OR our allies, including Israel.

Now that being said, I also realize that we can not fall to an isolationist position in our foreign policy either.

We can not just sit back when an insane leader of a country is hell bent on developing a nuclear weapon and declaring to the world Death to America and Death to Israel. We were a bit late at realizing that Hitler was a mad man and we can not afford to do that again.

Getting back to war for a minuet, if we do need to go to war, for our defense, we must fight it to win it, and when it is over we must bring our troops back quickly, no nation building.

On a final note, I do support most everything Ron Paul supports, but when he speaks about Iran and terrorism he frankly scares the hell out of me.

It just saddens me that people still have the appetite for ‘preventive’ war. Our government used 9/11 and the lie of WMDs to get us into a decades-long war that cost more lives then 9/11 and got us nothing. At this point, for me, any cries for aggression fall on deaf ears. I won’t be fooled twice. I highly recommend the following news article (http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/9557429-452/ron-paul-knows-violence-is-seldom-best-way-to-go.html) and the Ron Paul’s “What if” speech (http://youtu.be/4fHfdSi-GDo).

“What if Christianity actually teaches peace instead of preventive wars of aggression?” – Ron Paul

Christianity does not teach wars of aggression. It does allow war for defense and protecting the innocent.

The Bible teaches that we have the right to self defense, Exodus 22:2 : “If the thief is caught while breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there will be no blood guiltiness on his account.” The Bible also tells us to protect the innocent, Deut. 19:10 “So innocent blood will not be shed in the midst of your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, and blood guiltiness be on you.”
